DescriptionDR Oberweissbacher Bergbahn - Obstfelderschmiede Talstation, DDR Aug 1989.jpg |
English: The Oberweissbacher Bergbahn, the steepest in the world, on a very wide gauge at the Talstation of Obstfelderschmiede. The turntable allowed goods wagons, to be loaded onto counter-balancing goods platforms (which also were used for extra passenger capacity at busy times) and raised to the upper electric section for onward transport to Cursdorf. This goods service had ceased long before this photo. The Talstation connected with regular DR trains along the Schwarzatal. |
