Description
English: Two of the original trains on the network, crossing at Mudchute. One of the train captains is driving car 09. The original 11 P89 P86 cars were sold in 1997 1991 to Essen in Germany after 4 years with the DLR owing to their incompatibility with the new Bank Tunnel. The original Mudchute station closed in January 1999 along with the original high level Island Gardens station to be replaced by a new station on the Greenwich extension

(Note: the title on the Flickr page states "Docklands Light Railway - The original DLR Mudchute Station, Sept 1989", though the taken-date listed on the page states "June 17, 2009". It is presumably the former which is the correct date the picture was taken, considering the high-level platforms shown in the photograph closed in 1999 and are now demolished.)
