English: The derelict and creepy Downtowner Motel, abandoned for years at 424 8th Street, Eureka, California. Over the years, usually before elections great plans are announced for this building and then forgotten again afterwards. One of the owners of this building was appointed to the Humboldt County California Planning Commission despite the condition of this eyesore which backs up onto the National Register Eureka Inn.[1] [2]
