Description iconographique:

Eglise Saint-Pierre-de-Montmartre, rue du Mont-Cenis, 18ème arrondissement. Vue architecturale intérieure, travaux effectués au sein de l'église. Le curé de la paroisse pose au milieu de la nef, avec un ouvrier à sa gauche. Commentaire historique:

Il s'agit de la plus ancienne église de Paris, construite sous le roi Louis VI le Gros pour le monastère construit sur la butte mais aussi pour les laïcs. Ainsi l'édifice a été divisé en deux pour séparer les laïcs des religieuses. L'église est restaurée par l'architecte Sauvageot entre 1900 et 1905. La photographie montrant des travaux en cours dans l'église pourrait avoir été prise à cette occasion.
