| Description |
El Viaducto de Segovia fue construido en los años 30 para sustituir a otro anterior construido en 1874. Salva el desnivel de la calle de Segovia, que discurre perpendicularmente bajo él y es conocido popularmente como "el viaducto". Construido en hormigón armado, salva un desnivel de 23 m, en su altura máxima, y está formado por tres bóvedas de 35 m de luz y cuatro nervios. A lo largo de los años ha servido de trampolín para numerosos suicidios, formando parte de las crónicas negras de la ciudad. En 1998, el Ayuntamiento de Madrid instaló unas pantallas transparentes de seguridad para evitar este tipo de sucesos. |
