Description
English: On back of photograph] 'Members of the Elder Scientific Expedition, 1891-92. Taken in 1891 before the party started. The group omits Robert Ramsay (see B 6289). Names from left to right: F.W. Leach (second-in-command), L.A. Wells (surveyor), A. Warren (cook), D. Lindsay (leader), V. Streich (geologist), F.J. Elliot (surgeon), R. Helms (naturalist) and A.P. Gwynne (assistant).' [General description] Some of the men from the expedition are seated on cane chairs around a small ornate cane table, on which the leader is resting his elbow. Others stand behind.
