Español: El lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu y la Consejera de Educación, Política Lingüística y Cultura, Cristina Uriarte, han entregado esta tarde en Lehendakaritza el Premio Euskadi de Investigación 2013 en la modalidad de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades al historiador y jurista Gregorio Monreal.



“Este premio reconoce el compromiso con la historia y con el futuro de nuestro pueblo”, ha destacado Urkullu, “porque Gregorio Monreal ha participado activamente en la cimentación de las instituciones políticas que hoy vertebran nuestro autogobierno”.

El lehendakari también ha querido destacar que el premiado ha puesto de relieve la importancia de las instituciones públicas vascas. La mayor parte de su obra científica se ha concentrado en “dos grandes monumentos forales: el derecho histórico vizcaíno y el navarro”.

Monreal, formado en la Universidad de Deusto, es catedrático emérito de Historia del Derecho y de las Instituciones de la Universidad Pública de Navarra, y fue rector de la Universidad del País Vasco, y fundador y director científico del Instituto Universitario de Derecho Histórico de Vasconia.
