"The power and the glory" , by Erik Pevernagie, oil on canvas, (100 x 80 cm) xx

Significant guiding forces govern the world and our lives. Undercurrent drives push people in all directions with immeasurable outcomes.

Power and glory are two main dynamics. We can interpret them through several rationales in the realm of social motivation. If some dream of sovereignty, royalty, or fame, others even dream of divinity.

In the shade of power, glory can grow and radiate or languish and wither away. The transition between burgeoning and decline may be inspiring and illuminating. Everything can become entangled on the road of passion for reaching the desired goals.

Let us, as dependable people, not succumb to the traps of unbridled passion that drive us to hold back the truth and hamper us from speaking candidly and truthfully. Living on lies and denying irrefutable facts to attain power or glory leads to walking on bumpy paths with awkward pitfalls and embarrassing downsides.

If we take height instead of digging ourselves into a whirlpool of deception or self-sufficiency, we can track down the things we have neglected for so long that can give our lives a rainbow of color and vibrance.
