Nagykanizsa Central Cemetery (other names:Tripammer Street Cemetery, Nagykanizsa Public Cemetery) /Est. 1784/. Heroic Cemetery of World War I victims: it was completed in its present form – by 1928. On 16 August 1924, Lajos Barbarits, editor of the Zalai Közlöny (Zala Gazette), launched a social action to develop it. In addition to Hungarian soldiers, Austrian, German, Polish, Russian, Romanian, Serbian and Czech nationalities are also buried here. A sandstone obelisk by István Makovits architect installed in middle of the military cemetery in 1940. The memorial cemetery renewed in 2015, After it here are 1025 gravestone (23 of its were relocated) - Tripammer Gyula Street, Nagykanizsa, Zala County, Hungary

Nagykanizsai Központi temető (Tripammer utcai Temető, Nagykanizsai Köztemető) Az I. világháborús áldozatok hősi temetője 1928-ban hozták létre. - A temetőben alacsony sírkövek sírkövek sorakoznak pontos vonal mentén. 19. század végén a város jelentős katonaváros volt. A Casino százágyas kórházában 1915-ben 1399, a Munkapáholyban 31 ágyon 450, a Szanatóriumi Egyesület 27 ágyas kórtemében 514 sebesültek ápoltak. A nagykanizsai Vöröskereszt és fiókkórházaiban kezelt sebesültek közül 1915-ben 190-en kerültek ki a katonatemetőbe. A katonai tartalékkórház is tömve volt sebesültekkel ezért a pozsonyi parncsnokság 3000 fős katonai temetőnek kért telket. 1916-ra elkészült a több ezer ágyas körházépületegyüttes az iskolák visszakapták a tanításra az épületeiket, a felépült új kaszárnya miatt felszabadultak a középületek is. A nagykanizsain honvéd ezred részt vett az 1914-es Galiciai harcokban, 1916-ban az olasz hadszíntérre került, 1918-ban a Piave-folyó mentén Bugsch Elemér ezredes, Conradt Rezső alezredes, Schvoy Aladár alezredes vezetésével harcoltak 1918-ban IV. Károly báró Szurmay Sándor magyar királyi honvédelmi miniszter gyalogsági tábornokot nevezték ki 'ezredtulajdonossá' (Forrás: helyi tájékoztató). - A temető közepére egy homokkő obeliszket állítatotak fel 1940-ben. A hat méter magas alkotás a nagykanizsai (Teleki utcai) Mankovits István (1896-1968) munkája volt. Az obeliszk felirata: „1914–1918.
