This neoclassical residence, which was also the headquarters of business, was built by wholesaler and rapeseed oil manufacture owner Dávid Lázár Strasser, in 1820. On the site of the palace stood the Lakner House. U-shaped one storey gable roof building. Mid avant-corps with tympanon. In mid part is the arched gateway. Staircase with three arms stairs. South wing of the main building built later to the former L-shaped building. Strasser's son-in-law, Henrik Gutmann, received Hungarian nobility in 1869 – the first merchant of Jewish origin from Kanizsa. In the seconf half of the 19 century this building was the industrialists and merchants Gutmann's family (owned the Beliscse sawmill and wood distillery, employing 3000! workers), business headquarters, office and warehouse. Since 1932 the factory and the house have been owned by Károly Strém (†1942). Kálmán Strém by Katalin Gerő (2007 bronze relief, marble plaque) on the facade. Kálmán Strém was the grandson of Károly Strém. - The building was used by the György Thury Museum between 1952 and 2000. - House History Plaque: "Gutmann Palace is a local monumental building. The Klassicist residence and business headquarters belonged to the family until 1931 - It was built around 1820 by the father-in-law of the founder Henrik S. Guttman, grain wholesaler Lazar Strasser. The family's sawmills in Belishcse and Kanizsa were world famous. In 1892, Vilmos Guttman initiated the establishment of the local brewery. The house was the home of the Thúry György Museum between 1952 and 2000. 'Gutmann-palota' Zártsorú beépítésben álló, U alaprajzú, egyemeletes, nyeregtetős épület. Utcai homlokzatán timpanonnal lezárt középrizalit, középtengelyében kosáríves kapu. Udvari homlokzatán konzolokra támaszkodó függőfolyosó. A földszinti helyiségek boltozottak. Kapualja dongaboltozatos, lépcsőházában háromkarú lépcső. A főépület déli szárnya később épült az eredetileg L alaprajzú épülethez. A klasszicista lakóházat, amely egyben üzleti székház is volt Strasser Dávid Lázár termény-nagykereskedő? gubacskereskedő és repceolaj gyártó építtette 1820-ban. A palota helyén a Lakner-ház állt. Strasser veje volt Gutmann Henrik 1869-ben – a kanizsai zsidó származású kereskedők közül elsőként – magyar nemességet kapott. A 19. század második felében a Gutmann gyáros- kereskedőcsalád (3000 munkás foglalkoztató beliscsei fűrészmalom és fa lepárló gyár tulajdonosa) lakóháza, üzleti székháza, irodával, raktárral. Az udvarban, a nyugati telekhatár mellett újabb építésű, kétszintes lakóépület van. 1860 körül átalakitották az épület jelenlegi homlokzatára. 1932-től az üzem és a ház Strém Károly (†1942) tulajdona, az ő unokája volt Strém Kálmán, akinek ma emléktáblája (Avatás 2007., Gerő Katalin, bronz, márvány) van a ház falán. - 'Lakóház' néven műemlék, azonosító: 10952, törzsszám: 6286. - Háztörténeti emléktábla: "Gutmann-palota helyi műemlék épület. A klassszicista lakóház és üzleti székház 1931-ig volt a családé. A cégalapító Guttman S. Henrik apósa Strasser Lázár gabonanagykereskedő építhette 1820 körül. A család beliscsei és kanizsai fűrészüzemei világhírűek voltak. 1892-ben Guttman Vilmos kezdeményezte a helyi sörgyár alapítását.
