DescriptionFEMA - 379 - Photograph by Dave Gatley taken on 09-24-1999 in North Carolina.jpg |
English: Greenville, NC, September 24, 1999 -- The Tar River has almost completely cut off the Northern portion of Pitt County (No. of Greenville). Even major North/South arteries such as Hwy 33/264A have been cut by the flooding river. Here, a local contruction company (E. R. Lewis Construction) has donated high riding "Off-Road Dump Trucks" to ferry people across the flooded highway. Photo by DAVE GATLEY/ FEMA News Photo |
