English: Serial cross-section of retina and its trachea. Whole-mount dissected adult eye was used for the image. A total of 82 overlapping 1 µm sections (total of 40.5 µm) were compiled into the video. Tracheae were labeled by btl>GFP+DsRed (yellow). Rhabdomeres were labeled by autofluorescence from the pigments (green). The thicker tubes were the tracheal network under the fenestrated membrane (TNUFM). |
