The town was named after his first permanent home. The home, in its original condition is a fine example of gothic architecture. The house is a landmark and a source of pride to the community. Dedicated by the Native Sons of the Golden West. February 13, 1982. Larry E. Mowinckel, Grand President. In memory of James D. Phelan, U.S. Senator." |
