Description
English: This bridge was opened by Mr Andrew Johnston Chairman of the Essex County Council and Mrs Johnston. It was bult in the frst year of the Great WAr and replaced the old ferry brdge built in 1760 by Sir William Maynard, Baronet. Sheldon - Engneer French - Contractor [French was a large civlil enginering firm in Woodford Green which was active at least until the 1970s, building trunk roads and bypasses, inter alia.
