Description
English: I bought some blackberries at a vendor just to the right of the flower girl. It was a ganga (bargain,) how could I resist? They're my favorite fruit! They were much tarter than any other blackberries I've eaten. And, coincidence or not, but my tummy gave me some problems the next day.

The Iglesia de Santo Tomás shown in the photo is a Roman Catholic church built around 1545 atop a Pre-Columbian temple platform. The steps, which originally led to a temple of the pre-Hispanic Maya civilization, remain venerated. K'iche' Maya priests still use the church for their rituals, burning incense and candles. Each of the 18 stairs that lead up to the church stands for one month of the Maya calendar year.
