El monumento "Fuente de Concha Espina" situada en los jardines de Pereda de Santander, fue realizado por el escultor Victorio Macho e inagurado por los Reyes de España en 1927.
Concha Espina (Santander, 1877 - Madrid, 1955) Escritora ilustrada y una de las mentes más pleclaras de la literatura española del primer tercio del pasado siglo. Entre muchos otros premios y honores, en el año 1926 le fue concedido el Premio Nacional de Literatura por su obra Alta Mayor, así mismo llegó a ser propuesta para el Premio Nobel. De su trabajo literario cabe destacar "La niña de Luzmela", La esfinge maragata", "Vidas rotas" y "Dulce nombre".
