Français : Photographie-carte postale sans date représentant Georges Redach posant à cheval.
Georges REDACH est mon grand-oncle. Mon père était maréchal-ferrant à Villeneuve d'Agen et avait des salariés. Je me souviens du grand optimisme de ce grand-oncle qui a survécu à la guerre. Il n'évoquait jamais la guerre. Il a été mobilisé le 2 août 1914 à Valence d'Agen et est parti au front à Toulouse. Il a entretenu une importante correspondance avec sa famille, plus de 250 lettres. On y trouve le récit de la vie quotidienne du poilu, du temps passé au front, des attaques. Des évènements drôles mais aussi des événements durs sont racontés au fil de cette correspondance. Les réponses systématiques de la famille constituaient un soutien précieux. |
