Description

A stroll along the beach in this small West African country brought me to a group of locals transferring their fishing catch to land. 1984.

The Gambia is a former British colony and the English language is still available in tourist areas.

The country became well known a few years ago as the origin of the original character in the famous book and TV series "Roots".
