Gezeten op de regenboog zegent God Noach, diens vrouw en zoons en diens schoondochters. Rechtboven is de Ark weergegeven. De dieren in de brede boord van het tapijt staan voor het gevogelte, het vee en het wild die Noach in de Ark zou mee nemen.Links- en rechtboven: stamwapen Oostenrijk-Bourgondië. Vervaardiging Vervaardiger: vervaardiger: Willem de Pannemaker, ontwerper: Michiel Coxie (I) Plaats vervaardiging: Brussel Datering: na 1567 Materiaal: ketting: wol inslag: wol inslag: zijde Techniek: tapijtwerk Afmetingen: h 431 cm. × b 560 cm. Toelichting Het tapijt maakte deel uit van een reeks, waarvan de eerste versie van acht tapijten voor koning Sigismund II Augustus Jagello van Polen kort na 1548 in Brussel is vervaardigd. Tussen 1563 en 1565 liet Philips II de reeks opnieuw weven. Het wandtapijt in het Rijksmuseum is één uit een derde weving die nauw aansluit bij de Spaanse reeks en vervaardigd werd voor de bastaarddochter van Karel V, Margaretha van Oostenrijk, gewoonlijk Van Parma (naar haar man).
