English: "Grand Vase" with background "beautiful blue", 1783, Model by Louis-Simon Boizot, Bronzes by Pierre-Philippe Thomire, Base according to a model of Henri de Triqueti, hard porcelain, gilt bronze, Height 2 m. ; Diameter 0.90 m. On the biscuit headband: Diane awarding the prize for hunting and Diane surprised by Endymion. Provenance: commissioned in 1783 by Count d'Angiviller for the Garde-Meuble de la Couronne; Palace of Versailles in 1783; Apollo gallery of the castle of Saint-Cloud from 1807 to 1853. Payment by the Mobilier National, 1912. Louvre museum (Paris, France).
