Description
English: Beneath Moorgate Undergorund station; an invention of James Henry Greathead (developed from earlier designs by IK Brunel); this machine was used excavate new tunnels, but in the case of Moorgate, funding for a new line to Lothbury in 1904 ran out and the shield has been down here ever since.
