Boeren (titel op object) Objecttype: foto Objectnummer: NG-2015-4-5 Opschriften / Merken: opschrift, achterzijde foto, geschreven met potlood: ‘Boeren’ Omschrijving: De familie Taminga (ook wel geschreven als Tammenga of Tamminga) behoorde tot de eerste lichting boerenkolonisten die in 1845 uit Nederland naar Suriname kwamen. Muller heeft hen waarschijnlijk gefotografeerd bij hun huis aan de Gemeene Landsweg bij Paramaribo. Samen met zijn vriend dr. C. Hoekstra verdiepte Muller zich in de geschiedenis van de boerenkolonisatie in 1845 aan de Saramaccarivier. Hij schonk driehonderd foto’s aan het Koloniaal Museum in Haarlem voor een rondreizende tentoonstelling die een nieuwe wervingsactie van boeren uit Nederland moest betekenen.
