Dem Fuersten Bismarck April 1890. 5 and a half years previously, there was a large mural of Lenin on the wall of the restaurant here. One of our compulsory dining companions then (it being very busy) , an East German , had got a bit drunk and whilst we were munching through our Kaeseplatte, he started shouting and creating a large commotion, standing up and shouting that he was a German Communist. Everybody was looking. An awkward situation in late GDR times. |
