Description
English:
Statue of Saint Wendelin 1802 stone works, relocated, restored by Vendel Velkei reinstalled in 2006. Traces of the Cult of Saint Vendel appeared in Hungary in the 18th century. From this time you can meet his statues, images, which most often depict him as a shepherd. The greatest promoter of his honor was Márton Padányi Biró, bishop of Veszprém, who had a chapel built in his honor in Deáki near Sümeg, where he led a procession on October 20, during the rinderpest of 1755. His sculptures are mainly common in Transdanubia, in the region of Buda, in Heves County and in Jászság: he often appears on stained glass paintings - At Szolnoki Road and Kossuth Lajos Street corner roundabout, Törökszentmiklós, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County, Hungary.
