Summary

Description
English: Kakis are called "Trabzon hurması" in Turkish. Trabzon is a city/province of Turkey and "hurma" means dates. Therefore, Trabzon hurması translates, literally, as "dates of Trabzon". I have no idea if the fruit originally comes from Trabzon, at least in Turkey, but is has always been common in the Black Sea Region of the country, where Trabzon is also situated.
