Description
English: Sun-loving algae mounds ~450 million years old, otherwise known as stromatolites. Beside the Ottawa River across from Canada's capital city. The Champlain Bridge almost went over top of this fab site.

Shark Bay, Australia is the modern-day refuge for such species of snailfood.

The fossil bed is well-trodden and it seems people prefer to step on the magic circles.
