DescriptionInjurious-mechanical-ventilation-in-the-normal-lung-causes-a-progressive-pathologic-change-in-cc5940-S1.ogv |
English: A movie file illustrating stable subpleural alveoli in the normal rat lung during dynamic tidal ventilation. Each sphere-shaped object is an inflated individual alveolus and there is minimal atelectasis (that is, the entire field is covered by inflated alveoli). Notice there is minimal alveolar movement (that is, alveoli are stable) during tidal ventilation, at least in the two dimensions that can be seen with our in vivo microscope technique. |
