Summary edit

Description Lobelia cardinalis—cardinal flower. Few flowers brings the pageantry of the Roman Catholic Church to mind as much as this lobelia. Found through much of the continental United States except for the northern plains and Pacific northwest it extends its range to northern Colombia to the south. In California, it is found in wet places in the dry inland counties of southern California. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA
