Jazz band in Jackson Square - French Quarter Fest 2022
Summary
editDescriptionJazz band in Jackson Square - French Quarter Fest 2022 - 01.jpg |
English: The Opening Ceremonies kicked off three musically packed weekends after nearly three years of Covid pandemic related shutdowns. Out 1,500 musicians and gig workers contracted for the scuttled 2021 French Quarter Fest ended up receiving a partial payment anyway. Those payments were funded by a $150,000 donation from Chevron, the French Quarter Festival’s main sponsor.
Acts that were supposed to play in 2020 and 2021 were given "first priority" when this year's French Quarter Festival festival was booked. With a fulltime staff of only eight, the non-profit French Quarter Festivals Inc. manages an event that attracts hundreds of thousands of attendees with an economic impact of more than $100 million and highlights a musical spirit that has become a mainstay at festivals throughout the works |
