I like this painting on the exterior of an old fishmongers on commercial Road in Limehouse. The area generally is quite rundown and neglected and probably not much longer to be around in it's present form. Limehouse takes its name from the limekilns that operated from the mid-14th century, converting Kentish chalk into quicklime for the capital’s building industry. <a href="http://hidden-london.com/gazetteer/limehouse/" rel="nofollow">Limehouse history</a> |
