Summary

Description
English: a poem originally published in the Houston Post, and later republished in the Los Angeles Herald, about James Jeffries and Jack Johnson. The text is as follows:

Jim Jeffries says he will uphold

The honor of his race;

Does this mean he'll seek Johnson and

Let Johnson smash his face?

Jim makes the same mistake that many

Men have made. We lug

This fact out for our Jim to see;

It is not to a pug

The white race leaves its honor

To save with slug or poke;

Its honor would be safe though Jim

Should never meet the moke.
