English: Painted ceiling (c. 1765) of the church of St Anthony Convent in João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazil
Português: Igreja de São Francisco / Convento de Santo Antônio:
  • Os franciscanos viveram no convento até 1885. De 1885 a 1894, o mesmo foi tomado pelo império, que instalou no Convento uma Escola de Aprendizes Marinheiros e um Hospital Militar. Posteriormente, com a criação da Diocese da Paraíba, o 1º Bispo da Paraíba, Dom Adauto de Miranda Henriques, conseguiu reavê-lo com a finalidade de iniciar Seminário e Colégio diocesano. Por 70 anos o convento foi casa de formação sacerdotal. Depois, foi local de funcionamento de algumas instituições do Estado e, em 1979, todo o Conjunto foi fechado para restauração. Finalmente, aos 6 de março de 1990, foi reaberto como Centro Cultural de São Francisco (CCSF, 1999).
  • - O que eu achei interessante nesta foto foi, eu bati a foto com a maquina voltada totalmente para o teto, e o que me supreendeu foi o efeito com que a pintura ficou, bastante realista, a parte de baixo parece que esta alinhada horizontalmente !
