editWahl Is Candidate For West Point. John Wahl Jr., 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wahl, 21 Oakwood Avenue, Rye achieved one of the eight highest mark in West Point pre-qualification examinations given in New York City last week by the Civil Service Commission and qualified for the full entrance examination Wednesday. A total of 75 candidates took last week's examination. If successful Wednesday he will receive an appointment as alternate from Representative Ralph A. Gamble and will enter the Academy on July 15. Wahl was graduated from Rye High School last week. His father is City Forester of Rye.
