Summary

Description

St. Mary of the Visitation Church, Killybegs, County Donegal, Ireland

English: Immaculata altar below a print of a painting in the south transept. There is small notice regarding the painting: Our painting of The Holy Family was donated to St Mary's Church by Mr Murray of Broughton in 1844 and lived in the church for many years. Subsequently it was put into storage where, unfortunately, it deteriorated. It is now with a team of conservationists and restorers in London and will be returning on completion. The above inserted print is an indication of the ongoing work on the painting and the print will change as the work progresses. The above frame, which belongs to the painting, has been cleaned and applied with gold leaf.
