Nyckelord: Qianlong, Figurer
Description
Pair of porcelain jars with pierced lids, decorated in overglaze enamels and giltQing dynasty, c.1775-80 The shape of these jars possibly derives from metalwork, for example toleware or lacquered tin. Their original function could have been as bough pots or flower jars with removable pierced lids, or possibly for pot pourri. Their decoration is wholly Chinese and refers to spring and lunar New Year, suggested by the background of cracked ice and early plum blossom.
