Description
English: No60008 was built by the LNER as No4496 and named 'Golden Shuttle'. She was renamed 'Dwight D Eisenhower' after WW2 and renumbered firstly to 'No8' under the Thompson renumbering scheme, and then to No60008 under British Railways.

After withdrawal in July 1963 she was cosmetically restored and displayed at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay Wisconsin, USA. In October 2012, together with No60010 'Dominion of Canada' she returned to the UK to take part the 'Mallard 75' event to celebrate the anniversary of Mallard's record breaking run in July 1938. After cosmetic restoration at Shildon she moved to York in ealry 2013 to take part in the celebrations. National Railway Museum, York.
