Summary edit

Description

This sign was seen on the inside of a passenger door on the former British Rail Class 438 4TC set which was preserved by London Transport for use during "Steam On The Met" events and is now owned by the London Transport Museum.

This is what nowadays can be seen as an historic 'slam door' train and to make it fully compliant with stricter safety standards than when these trains were in daily service, in 2017 it was fitted with central door locking that is controlled from inside the guards' compartment.

Lights lights were also added to the sides of the train so that platform staff can see when the doors have been released.
