Summary edit

Description
English: Lakshmi Embellished, by Ravi Varma Press. The Goddess of wealth and abundance, Lakshmi has been adorned in many different forms. However, one common factor in all these forms of embellishment remains the colour of her sari. This reproduction shows Goddess Lakshmi draped in a red silk sari. Details on the sari - like the border and motifs have been enhanced with silver sequins and zardozi, while her crown has pretty glass beads in red, green and white to depict precious stones. On her arms, neck and ears are traditional Indian jewels, recreated using the same beads and sequins. From the Sandeep & Gitanjali Maini Foundation, 35 x 50 cm.
