Description
Nederlands: Verlengde Schrans 87, Leeuwarden: Villa van royale afmetingen, gebouwd in de jaren 1888-'89 voor jonkheer Duco Martena van Burmania Vegelin van Claerbergen door de architect Hendrik Kramer in Eclectische stijl met voornamelijk Neo-Renaissanceornamentiek. Het exterieur en het interieur zijn met een voor Kramer kenmerkende rijkdom uitgevoerd. Vele onderdelen werden in Brussel besteld. Het exterieur is redelijk gaaf bewaard gebleven. Aan de achterzijde werd het pand enkele malen uitgebreid. Koetshuis en stalling werden al eerder afgebroken. Het bijbehorende Borniapark ging geheel verloren. Van het oorspronkelijke hekwerk bleef alleen de inrijpoort bewaard. Het interieur onderging een aantal wijzigingen.
