Nederlands: Tijdens het sportgala van de Gemeente Leiden en de Leidse Sportfederatie zijn op vrijdag 9 februari 2018 de Leidse Sportprijzen uitgereikt in de Aalmarktzaal van de Stadsgehoorzaal. Omdat die dag ook de Olympische Spelen werden geopend, was het thema van het evenement ‘goud’. In de middag werden alle Leidse jeugdkampioenen al gehuldigd.
De jury bestond dit jaar weer uit Gertjan van Geen van het Leidsch Dagblad, oud-profvoetballer Wim Rijsbergen en voormalig topschaatser Jeroen Straathof. Zij bepaalden de winnaars in de categorieën sportman, sportvrouw, sportploeg, sportcoach en aangepaste sporter van 2017. De avond werd gepresenteerd door oud olympiër Femke Dekker. Het programma werd verder aangevuld door optredens van Gerard van den Berg met zijn leerlingen van Taekwondo Vereniging Leiden en sportieve act van Roggeveen&Olijerhoek. Van den Berg kreeg ook nog de Gouden Speld van de Gemeente Leiden uitgereikt. |
