Dear Judy

... The Andrew Jensen family and the Peter Olsen family are double cousins. Brother Andrew Jensen married Lena Olson [and] brother Peter Olsen married Marie Jensen (Havig family) ... Olsen's (Klungland). The traditional drop of last name Havig in Andrew Jens Havig placing [it] onto [the] middle name. Hence Andrew Peter Ole Klungland became Peter Olsen.

All were singers of note in Norway.

[I] believe Perry M. Olsen could supply additional information. "Pat" and "Dot" moved to California and have quite a family tree of their own. Perry M. Olsen - Dorothy Olsen

  • Marge (Olsen) Higgingbotham
    • several children
  • Dorothy (Olsen) Graham,
    • Don
  • Dr. Perry A. Olsen & Betty
    • Perry
    • Roger
    • David
    • Tom
    • Sally

This is not a complete bio, Perry could fill in for [?]. If anything [?] I'll be glad to cooperate. God Bless and keep you well and safe. Love Uncle (Leonard) [?].

Notes

edit

Scandinavia used the patronymic naming system. Havig and Klungland were farm names which were used prior to the adoption of family names in Scandinavia. For instance Ole Pedersen was Ole, son of Peder of Klungland farm.
