Description
Deutsch: Innenansicht der Leopoldskirche im 2. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Leopoldstadt.
Den Grundstein zur Kirche legte Kaiser Leopold I. im Jahr 1670. Von 1722 bis 1724 wurde die Kirche nach Plänen von Anton Ospel neu errichtet. Neben dem Hochaltar hat die Kirche 2 größere Seitenaltäre in der Querachse des Hauptraumes (rechts Kreuz- und links Familienaltar) und 4 kleinere Altarnischen in den Diagonalen. Das Hochaltarbild ist eine freie Kopie des im 2. Weltkrieg zerstörten Altomonte-Gemäldes und wurde von Hans Alexander Brunner (1895–1968) gemalt. Das Altarbild des Familienaltars stammt von Nicola Malinconico.
