Description

The rare Spuleria flavicaput

Potted up from the minibus window on Friday (12/05/17) in a lay-by along the B1368 towards Barley, North Herts. A first for me in the tiny shape of Spuleria flavicaput at just about 8mm (What an odd almost incomprehensible name!). This tiny moth feeds from Hawthorn. Thanks to Gideon Knight for initial identification. Not a common moth in the County.
