English: The fresco dates from 1382. and has dimensions of 222 cm x 196 cm. It shows the Virgin Mary with baby Jesus, St. Francis of Assisi and St. Catherine of Alexandria. Two figures kneeling in front of the Virgin Mary were identified as two brothers, Giacomo and Giovanni, Counts of Suardi. The fresco is now in the picture gallery of the Academy of Carrara in Bergamo, Italy. Originally, it was located at the Monastery of St. Francesco. |
