California shown as a labeled island with an indented northern coast. Nova Albion, Sevo and Gigante labeled on the island. Also visible as an island on inset maps. Title statement in two decorative cartouches, one above each hemisphere. Upper right, outside border: "Cum Gratia et Privil. S. R. I. Vicariatg in partibg Rheni Svevice et Juris Franconici." Explorers routes shown including Magellan, Dampier, Gaetani, Tasman, and S. Antoine. The route of S. Antoine in 1710 is the latest date shown. Twelve circular insets show the world from various aspects, etc. Human figures, shown blowing the winds, surround the hemispheres.
