| Description |
Antes fue Coscinia, luego Spiris, ahora posiblemente Coscinia otra vez Esta polilla de envergadura de 30 a 35 mm. Las alas anteriores son generalmente de color amarillo o de color amarillo claro, con estrecha lineas marrón oscuro longitudinal en los machos , mientras que en las hembras las estrías pueden estar ausentes o limitados a las partes exteriores. Las alas posteriores son de color amarillo, pero son más oscuras y mucho más anchas que las alas anteriores y muestran un borde de color marrón oscuro. Las antenas de los machos son pinadas (peines). Las orugas son peludas y negras, con manchas brillantes en los lados y una banda de color marrón rojizo en la parte posterior. Son diurnas, vuelan desde mayo hasta agosto, dependiendo de la ubicación. Las larvas se alimentan de vegetación baja y hierbas de diferente tipo (Festuca spp, Calluna spp., Salvia pratensis, Hieracium spp., Artemisia spp.etc.) |
