Metropolitan Borough of Hackney Mayor Councillor Frank William Snewin JP opened by the right honourable lord mayor Alderman Sir Maurice Jenks, Bt 1st July 1932 Frank Snewin - 1872-1951 london.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Mayors_of_Hackney Mr Snewin lived at number 1 Thistlewaite Road, Clapton Pond, E5 in the 1881 census, he was living with his family [his father was a carman] at Solomon's Cottage, Spring Hill,Upper Clapton He died on April 8 1951 in one of the very many lost hospitals of London, Northumberland House in Finsbury Park, a mental asylum which closed shortly afterwards, moving to Ballards Lane, Finchley, and the Green Lanes site was cleared in 1955 ezitis.myzen.co.uk/northumberlandhouse.html redeveloped as the Rowley Gardens estate.[then in Stoke Newington Borough, now Hackney] Harringay Online has published an amazing set of photos of this lost asylum, and the comments mention some notable residents, who may have been sufferers of dementia.
