Barbara knielt terwijl haar vader haar haren opzij houdt om de dodelijke slag met zijn zwaard toe te dienen. Een geestelijk probeert hem te weerhouden van zijn daad. Een groep soldaten kijkt verschrikt toe. Rechtsboven zijn op twee schilden het keurvorstelijk en hertogelijk wapen van Saksen weergegeven.
