Summary

Description
English: Martinite
Locality: Poudrette quarry (Demix quarry; Uni-Mix quarry; Desourdy quarry; Carrière Mont Saint-Hilaire), Mont Saint-Hilaire, Rouville RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada
Original description: The maximum diameter is ~ 2 1/4 mm. Via Jean-Pierre Beckerich. Found August 1992. Fairly deep to very pale violet plates of martinite.
This specimen was visually confirmed (as MSH UK92) by the principal author (Dr. A. M. McDonald 2007). It is considered a very good example for the species.
The martinite is from a sodalite xenolith and appears to be associated with yofortierite. According to Horváth (Lapis, Rivista 7-8/2000), yofortierite is exceedingly rare in this environment but tuperssuatsiaite has not been reported. The other (equally rare) possibility is raite – but I doubt it.
Other associated minerals inlude well formed "eudialyte".
