English: 1 May 2010. Fairfax Road, London N8. Dumped mattress and bits of bed propped against a wall.
(Reported to Haringey Council's waste contractors for clearance.) Near the junction with Green Lanes. The white buildings on the left of the photo are in Fairfax Mews. Click here to view the original fullsize photo. And to read the Dumping Strictly Prohibited notice. You'll see this is an antique notice and no longer easily readable. Plainly, the powers-that-pretend-to-be have tried without success to prevent dumping at this location for some considerable time. The notice threatens a fine of 400, though it's impossible to see if this is pence, shillings, or groats. |
